Video: Gas glut hits Qatar project

Qatar, which meets a quarter of the global demand for liquefied natural gas, is cementing its pre-eminent position. The LNG produced from the world’s largest project in Ras Laffan, which cost $13bn to build, will supply 20 per cent of Britain’s gas requirements.

But as Al Jazeera’s Nicole Johnston reports, the global recession is causing a gas glut, which in turn is adversely affecting producing countries.
